Candle and Lighter

 

 

We were like candle and lighter

Together we created the light

Which removed the darkness

In this dreary wretched world

But then, I, like the candle

Kept losing a bit of myself,

Every moment I melted

Until one day, I faded away

Why I didn’t see?

The right person, the wrong time,

The wrong person, the right time,

Or maybe, it was a mix of both

Not sure, what left me heartbroken

But when I look back at the pieces

Oh boy, why I didn’t see it was all wrong?

Wish it was a bad dream

My heart cries without tears

And pain overflows and incapacitates me

And I want to curl up and sleep

And wish this pain will melt and vanish

Like those terribly sad dreams you dream

But disappear as soon as you wake up

I want me

When the realization struck

That you no longer want me

I realized that I want me more

May be more than I wanted you

I wanted to find that someone

I lost in being someone for you

Bring back those moments

I miss all those little things about us;

The things that made us strong,

Those made us do a promise of forever

Those which dreams were made of

Can we remember, that love was ours,

Coated with rainbow colors and sunshine

Can we bring back that dream again,

And let go of the pain and heartache?

I miss all those little things we used to do

I miss those little things we shared

I miss those people whom we were

And also the people we could be

Let’s take a moment to rewind and remember,

Walk down that memory lane once again

And bring back that joy we felt together

To this moment, forever and ever
